Hello I'm in the market for a Gameboy Advance sp. I just think they're so cool, but I can't seem to make a decision about the screen. Should I get the IPS v2, or the AGS 101? After doing some research, it seems the IPS v2 is superior, but at times I've seen the same exact shell with an AGS 101 going for more money. What's up with that?
AGS-001. Frontlit screen which can be toggled on and off via the Screen Light Switch (otherwise referred to as “Brightness Button”) The screen appears grey when powered off. AGS-101. Much brighter backlit screen with additional brightness setting via Screen Light Switch. The screen appears black when powered off.
Also, the afterburner was a front light mod like the sp001 is, it’s outdated tech and junk. Go for the 3rd party 101 screen. But do know, these mods can take a bit of work, you must mod the shell on a agb to fit one in and you must make sure you buy the correct adapter wire for your model.
